Ekiti set to host 64th national council on health

The Ekiti State Ministry of Health and Human Services, in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, is gearing up to organize the 64th National Council on Health.

Dr. Oyebanji Filani, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, made this announcement on Thursday during a press conference to mark the upcoming event.

Scheduled to take place from November 13 to 17, 2023, in the state capital, the program is expected to draw over 800 participants from across the nation and around the world.

Titled “Building the Resilience and Inclusive Health Care System for a Healthy Nigeria,” the initiative aims to engage in discussions addressing critical health issues and reviewing progress and decisions that shape the direction of healthcare in the country.

Dr. Filani emphasized the significant benefits that Ekiti State stands to gain from hosting this national meeting.

He highlighted the potential to stimulate the economy through tourism, boost revenue for local businesses, and foster meaningful cooperation and collaboration through participation.

He stated, “The program will enhance our brand recognition, offering substantial economic benefits through increased tourism, utilization of hotels, and engagement with parks.”
