NYSC officially inducts 1,895 corps members in Nasarawa state

The Magaji Dan-Yamusa NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Keffi, Nasarawa State witnessed the official swearing-in ceremony of 1,895 Corps members from the 2023 Batch C, Stream 1.

The three-week orientation course, declared open by Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr. Ja’afaru Ango, on behalf of Governor Sule, marked the commencement of their national service.

During the ceremony, Commissioner Ango extended congratulations to the Corps members for successfully completing their academic pursuits, assuring them of the government’s steadfast commitment to their welfare and safety.

Governor Sule reiterated the peaceful nature of Nasarawa State and pledged security, welfare, and overall well-being for the Corps members.

He emphasized the administration’s priority on security, showcasing a robust collaboration between the state and security agencies.

Commending the dedication of all participants, including the NYSC management and collaborating agencies, Governor Sule affirmed his administration’s support for the scheme in achieving its core objectives.

He assured ongoing assistance to enhance the scheme’s capacity to fulfill its mandate.

In addition to wishing the Corps members a successful and rewarding orientation course, Governor Sule encouraged them to abstain from negative behaviors and actively engage in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training, preparing them for economic development.

Alhaji Abdullahi Jikamshi, the Coordinator of the NYSC scheme in Nasarawa State, acknowledged the Corps members’ exceptional response to training and their quick adaptation to the camp environment throughout the orientation course.

He expressed gratitude to the governor for addressing the needs of the NYSC in the state, including the construction of a 3000-capacity multi-purpose hall and additional staff hostels.
