Video footage circulated on social media depicted a confrontation near a canal, typically known for its cafes and nightlife.

The footage showed a group of men who ignited flares before suddenly fleeing from another group, some of whom were wearing hoods and appeared to be wielding batons.

This incident unfolded less than two months after a Newcastle United supporter was also stabbed in the same area of the city before a Champions League fixture against Milan.

AC Milan, the seven-time European champions, hosted PSG the following day. PSG, leading Group F by two points, entered the game as favorites after defeating Milan 3-0 at the Parc des Princes two weeks earlier.
