The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a female student of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) whose lifeless body was discovered in her off-campus apartment in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area.
The student, identified as Adaeze, was a 200-level undergraduate of Accounting. The cause of her death remains unclear at this time.
This incident occurred just two weeks after the gruesome discovery of the decomposing body of Justina Otuene, a 300-level Biochemistry student, who was allegedly killed by her ex-lover, Damian Okoligwe, in his residence along NTA Road, Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.

Damian Okoligwe, a 400-level student of Petrochemical Engineering at UNIPORT, has already been apprehended by the police in connection with the previous case.
Professor Chima Wokocha, the Dean of Student Affairs at UNIPORT, confirmed that Adaeze’s lifeless body was found in her off-campus residence in Aluu.
Neighbors brought her to the Chief Lulu-Briggs Health Centre at the university after her demise.
It was noted that a bottle of a substance was found beside her, suggesting the possible ingestion of a toxic substance.
The university’s management, together with the police, visited the scene of the incident, and the parents of the deceased have been informed of the tragic event.

Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident, reporting that a landlord had alerted them to the discovery of the deceased student.
The police found foam around her mouth and nose, as well as a container of the pesticide “Sniper” nearby. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to her death.
