In a recent episode of the “We Need To Talk” podcast, South African singer Tyla Laura Seethal, popularly known as Tyla, put an end to the ongoing rumors about her alleged romantic involvement with Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Rema.

Tyla made it clear that she and Rema are simply friends and that the speculation about their relationship is unfounded.

The dating rumors gained traction when a viral picture showed them holding hands. However, Tyla explained that the photo was taken after she attended one of Rema’s concerts.

She emphasized that there is no romantic involvement between them, stating, “We [Rema and I] are just friends. I went to his show, and he happened to hold my hand.

And obviously, people will always interpret it the way they do. He is not my boyfriend. He’s not my man.”

Tyla had previously mentioned Rema in an interview with Apple Music when asked about the celebrity she would like to take to a prom date, which may have contributed to the dating speculations.
