Peter Obi expresses condolences over students struck by lightning

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate representing the Labour Party (LP) in the upcoming 2023 election, has responded to the recent natural disaster that occurred at a secondary school in Anambra State during the weekend.

Reports indicated that a rainstorm on Saturday, November 4, resulted in a lightning strike at Tansi International College, leaving approximately nine students injured.

Tragically, three of the students lost their lives, while the remaining students are currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

In a message posted on a social media platform, Peter Obi expressed his deep sadness over the unfortunate incident, stating, “I am greatly saddened by the unfortunate natural disaster that happened at Tansi International College, Awka, this weekend.

It was reported that 9 students of the College were struck by lightning on Saturday, November 4, during a rainstorm.”

He went on to convey his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the affected students, and the management of the College.

His message included a prayer for strength for those mourning the loss and a wish for a swift recovery for the injured, as well as eternal rest for the departed.
