Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has officially initiated the construction of an 11-kilometer dual carriageway road, known as the GSS Ningi-Gudduba road, located in Ningi Local Government Area of the state.

This significant infrastructure project, valued at over N10 billion, serves as a gesture of appreciation for local support.

The dual carriageway project is designed to encompass a 7.3-meter carriageway and 2-meter-wide shoulders, with an expected completion period of eighteen months, ultimately contributing to the state’s long-term growth and development.

Upon completion, the dual carriageway will extend from Ningi-Gudduba, effectively opening up the region for enhanced accessibility and economic progress.

Governor Bala Mohammed, speaking in Ningi, emphasized the pivotal role of road development in driving economic activities.

The governor clarified that the contract was awarded due to its strategic significance, as it acts as a gateway to the commercial hub of Kano and other northern regions of the country.

The initiative is expected to reduce the high incidence of accidents resulting in loss of lives and property.

Governor Mohammed confirmed that the mobilization fee of 30 percent has been disbursed to allow the project to commence.

He disclosed that the project would be jointly overseen by a team of engineers from the State Ministry of Works and Transport and the Federal Ministry of Works.

Expressing regret over the historical neglect of the Ningi Emirate and the central zone in terms of adequate road networks by previous administrations, the governor emphasized his commitment to addressing these discrepancies by promoting engagement, inclusivity, and respecting the aspirations of every sector of the state.

He stated, “There is so much neglect of the Ningi emirate, and it is not that easy for one administration to address them, but I will try my best as the Turaki Ningi.

We, therefore, hit the ground running on day one of our first tenure by awarding road projects to several reputable road contractors.
