Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, recently visited the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons to discuss the pressing issue of assisting those affected by banditry in the state.
During the visit, Governor Lawal appealed for further support and humanitarian assistance due to the ongoing insecurity and dire need in the state.

He requested that the Commission extend refugee resettlement efforts beyond Gusau to other areas in Zamfara, emphasizing the importance of partnership and collaboration in alleviating the suffering of over 2000 refugees in the state.
In response, the Federal Commissioner of the NCFRMI, Tijjani Aliyu Ahmed, expressed his gratitude to Governor Lawal for being the first executive to visit the commission since assuming office.
He assured the governor that the commission is committed to providing ongoing support to Zamfara and other states grappling with security challenges.

Relief materials, including bags of rice, spaghetti, semovita, farming tools, computers, sewing machines, and educational materials, were handed over to Governor Lawal during the visit.
