The Ministry of Primary Education in Delta State has taken swift action by closing down the Great Leaders International School in Ime-Obi, Agbor, located in the Ika Local Government Area of the state.
The decision follows the disturbing incident of an alleged defilement of a 4-year-old girl by the school’s proprietor, Innocent Ezeukwu.
Mr. Augustine Oghoro, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, condemned the heinous act in a statement, describing it as “wicked and barbaric.”

He expressed his bewilderment at how a teacher, who holds a pivotal role in the education and upbringing of students under his care, could commit such a deplorable act.
The Delta State Police Command has already taken action by apprehending the suspect, Innocent Ezeukwu, the school’s proprietor, who will face the full consequences of his actions, aiming to set a deterrent example for others.

The statement also clarified that the Great Leaders International School was operating without the necessary authorization and had long been shut down by the state’s primary education ministry.
The State Government issued a warning to parents, urging them to refrain from taking the law into their own hands by physically assaulting teachers for disciplining their children.
