Donald Trump Jr. testified on Wednesday, asserting that he played no role in the preparation of financial documents for the family real estate company as he appeared in the $250 million civil fraud trial in New York.
The lawsuit alleges that Don Jr. and Eric were engaged in creating fraudulent financial statements, allegations that they both reject.
According to the lawsuit, Don Jr. certified the financial statements after his father assumed the presidency in 2017, at which point he and Eric assumed control of the Trump Organization.

During his testimony, Don Jr. humorously commented on photographers taking pictures of him while he sat with his legal team.
In response to questions regarding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and his time at Wharton Business School, Don Jr. stated that he understands GAAP and studied it during an accounting course in the late 90s.
He further emphasized that he relies on Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and other professionals to handle financial matters, as he does not have an in-depth understanding of GAAP.

Don Jr. also discussed his entry into his father’s company shortly after the September 11 attacks.
Donald Trump did not appear in court but posted a message online expressing his discontent with Judge Arthur Engoron’s involvement in the case.
