The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is gearing up to welcome 1,487 prospective corps members for the 2023 Batch C Stream I orientation course, set to kick off on November 1 in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The three-week mandatory orientation course is scheduled to begin nationwide on November 1, concluding on November 21, 2023.

During this period, the state Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, is expected to preside over their swearing-in ceremony, with the state Chief Judge, Halima Mohammed, administering the oath of allegiance.
In a press statement signed by Jennifer Laha, the Head of the Public Relations Unit in the state, it was disclosed that the NYSC temporary orientation camp at Science Technical College, Amada, Akko LGA, will host the orientation course for these 1,487 prospective corps members.
The formal opening and swearing-in ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10:00 am. Governor Muhammadu Yahaya will preside over the event, and the state’s Chief Judge will administer the oath of allegiance to the corps members embarking on their national service journey.

While ensuring the safety and well-being of the Prospective Corps Members (PCMs), Jennifer Laha urged the usual cooperation of stakeholders to make these 1,487 participants feel welcome and comfortable during their stay in Gombe State.
Gombe residents, especially those in Akko LGA and its environs, are encouraged to extend their renowned hospitality to the incoming corps members, showcasing the warmth and friendliness for which Gombe State is known.
