Ex-LP aspirant accuses Tinubu of worsening conditions in Nigeria

Oluwadare Faduri, a presidential aspirant from the Labour Party for the 2023 election, expressed his concerns on Monday about the deteriorating living conditions of many Nigerians due to certain policies of the Federal Government.

Faduri pointed out that the situation has been worsening daily, particularly under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement released and signed by Faduri on Monday, he also criticized the decision of lawmakers to purchase expensive cars for themselves at a time when a significant number of Nigerians are struggling to afford basic meals.

Faduri stated, “Things are getting worse by the day due to the unfavorable policies of this government that made no plan and no positive implementation.

Our nation has been a country of hell, and people can’t even afford one square meal per day.”

He highlighted various challenges faced by the country, including economic instability, a depreciating national currency (the Naira), widespread insecurity, particularly in northern Nigeria, a deteriorating educational system, and the rising cost of food, making it unaffordable for the average citizen.

Faduri criticized the government for its expenditure while the country is grappling with poverty and external borrowing.

He specifically mentioned the National Assembly’s decision to purchase official cars for themselves, each costing N160 million, on top of their initial allocation of N70 billion from the national treasury.

This comes at a time when Nigerian workers are still earning less than $50 per month.

Faduri called on the president to prioritize the welfare of the poor when implementing government policies and emphasized the importance of careful planning and consideration before rolling out new policies and programs.
