Hassan Motunrayo, a 27-year-old woman and small-scale business owner, is reaching out to the Nigerian community for financial support as she confronts inner cheek cancer.
Motunrayo shared her health ordeal, which commenced in 2017 with a seemingly innocuous toothache in her right cheek.
What initially felt like dental discomfort gradually transformed into a painful, swelling sensation that resembled a boil.

Eventually, her medical condition was identified as inner cheek cancer, a form of head and neck cancer wherein cells within the cheek’s inner lining undergo uncontrolled growth and develop tumors, medically termed as Buccal mucosa.
Motunrayo consulted with Dr. Onakome Johnson at the National Hospital in Abuja, who provided insight into her condition and the necessary treatment.
She disclosed that she visited multiple hospitals and turned to the National Hospital in 2022.

The medical assessment confirmed the need for corrective surgery to address her condition, estimated at a cost of N820,000.
While recounting her journey, the Edo State native emphasized her financial constraints and the urgency of her situation.
She expressed, “I went there in September and was urged to find the money before it gets out of hand than this. I am in pain. I only have a mother. My dad is late.”
A medical report by Dr. Johnson detailed the severity of Motunrayo’s condition, emphasizing the massive cheek swelling that obstructed her nasal passage and necessitated immediate surgical intervention.
