The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, revealed that the Supreme Court is currently operating with only 10 justices, marking its lowest number in contemporary history.
He made this statement during the valedictory court session for Justice Musa Dattijo, who retired at the age of 70.

The CJN assured the public that efforts are underway to appoint more justices to address the staffing shortage and maintain the court’s efficiency.
During the session, Justice Ariwoola praised Justice Dattijo for his exemplary career and contributions to the Nigerian judiciary.
