Police arrests six suspected phone snatchers and thieves in Jigawa state (pictures)

In a recent operation, the Jigawa State Police Command successfully apprehended six individuals suspected of being involved in phone snatching and theft across various local government areas, including Kiyawa, Kazaure, and Hadejia.

The suspects were found in possession of stolen items, which include four Android phones, a Tiger generator, two sewing machines, cooking oil, and illegal substances.

The first incident occurred on the 20th of October, when detectives from the Auyo Divisional Headquarters arrested Saidu Suleiman, Tijjani Garba, and Auwal Muhammad, who were found with four Android phones believed to have been stolen.

They confessed to stealing the phones from A.A. Mai Doki filling station in Auyo LGA.

On a separate occasion, Shemau Zakari reported that her house in Kazaure was broken into, and two sewing machines valued at N60,000 were stolen on the 20th of October.

A suspect named Sani Jafaru, previously convicted of a similar offense, was quickly arrested, and he confessed to the theft.

Furthermore, on the 21st of October, Kamalu Saleh reported a break-in at his shop in Kiyawa, where a watering generator, Tiger generator, and pipes were stolen.

The surveillance squad from Kiyawa Division apprehended a suspect named Ya’u Ado, who was in possession of the stolen Tiger generator.

Another report came from Bashari Labbani, who reported the theft of twenty-five liters of cooking oil from his shop in Babura.

This crime was also quickly solved, with Mamman Abdullahi being arrested and found in possession of the stolen cooking oil, along with other suspicious items.

All the suspects confessed to their respective crimes during police interrogations and will face legal actions following the completion of investigations.
