Assailants attacked and murdered a female student, Yosi Yusuf, from the College of Education, Billiri in Gombe State.

The incident unfolded during the early hours of Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Zazzagawa quarters in Billiri, where Yosi resided as an off-campus student.

This unsettling occurrence follows another horrifying murder in Gombe State, where a 58-year-old mother of eight, Aishatu Abdullahi, was killed just 48 hours earlier.

Yosi Yusuf, a third-year student pursuing a National Certificate in Education (NCE), was originally from Baganje Town in Billiri Local Government Area.

ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the spokesperson of the state Police Command, confirmed the incident and assured that an investigation is already underway to apprehend the assailants.

The body of the deceased has been placed in the mortuary of Billiri General Hospital, awaiting further police investigations to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the crime and identify those responsible.
