The Kaduna State Police Command has officially confirmed the brutal murder of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Grace Chalya Silas, by unknown assailants in the state.

The state’s Police Commissioner, CP Musa Yusuf Garba, has ordered a manhunt for the perpetrators.

Chalya Silas, who was conducting her mandatory one-year national service in the state, was fatally stabbed during her morning jog in the Barnawa area of Kaduna South Local Government.

Friends and classmates from the University of Jos, where she studied, expressed their grief on social media.

The police spokesman described the incident as tragic and reported that the police were swiftly responding to the case.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter to bring the culprits to justice.
