In a recent incident in various areas of Zamfara State, bandits have taken the lives of at least three individuals and abducted over 51 others, including a district head.
The unfortunate event transpired on Tuesday when a group of armed individuals invaded Bagega, a mining community in the state, and began firing shots indiscriminately, leading to the fatalities of three local residents.
Efforts to contact the police command were unsuccessful at the time of this report, as the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, did not respond to calls.

However, the Village Head, Malam Abubakar Uba, confirmed the incident to Reuters, revealing that the assailants kidnapped the district head and subsequently seized dozens of other villagers in the community.
According to Uba, “They stormed the village on dozens of motorcycles, and their first stop was the District’s Head residence. A few of them took him away with three members of his household before they entered the town and unleashed more harm.”
