President Bola Tinubu has authorized the appointment of a new management team for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), subject to Senate confirmation.
The newly appointed officials are Dr. Musa Aliyu as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of ICPC and Mr. Clifford Oparaodu as the Secretary to the Commission.
In addition, President Tinubu has granted the pre-end-of-tenure leave request for the outgoing Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owosanoye.
This leave commences on November 4, 2023, preceding the conclusion of his tenure on February 3, 2024.
These actions were taken in accordance with the powers vested in the President by Section 3(6) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.

While the position of Chairman requires Senate confirmation, Mr. Oparaodu’s appointment as Secretary to the Commission is effective immediately.
Dr. Musa Aliyu, who has served as the Attorney-General of Jigawa State since September 2019, holds Bachelor, Masters, and Doctorate degrees in Law. He was also designated as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in October 2023.
Mr. Clifford Oparaodu is an experienced lawyer with over 30 years of practice, having served in the public sector as a Member of the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission and Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council.
The President has urged the new ICPC management team to uphold integrity as they execute their duties impartially and without bias in all matters brought before them.
