The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced its intent to commence payments of the nine-month backlog owed to N-Power beneficiaries.
The announcement was made by Akindele Egbuwalo, the N-Power National Programme Manager, during a meeting with some N-Power beneficiaries in Abuja.
Egbuwalo explained that the temporary suspension of the N-Power program was carried out to address various concerns directly affecting the beneficiaries.
As part of the restructuring and forensic audit, funds have been recovered from the existing payment service providers.

The disbursement of the outstanding stipends will begin in November 2023, with payments to be made in installments.
The N-Power program will continue under the supervision of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, with plans to expand the scheme to target five million beneficiaries over five years.
This expansion aims to absorb one million youths each year through the graduate and non-graduate streams.
A beneficiary from Yobe State, Sani Garba, who attended the meeting, expressed that the primary concern of beneficiaries was the delayed nine-month stipends.
He mentioned that plans for a national protest had been considered due to insufficient information.
However, after understanding the current payment situation, beneficiaries decided against the protest.
