The University of Ilorin has announced that President Bola Tinubu, the institution’s Visitor, will unveil recently completed projects on October 23 as part of the university’s combined 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies.
Graduates from the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions will receive their first degrees, postgraduate degrees, and diplomas during the three-day event at the university’s Main Auditorium, which begins on Friday.
The ceremonies will commence with a Special Jumaat Service on Friday and an Inter-denominational Church Service on Sunday.
The program includes the presentation of a Korean drama titled “Jeong Do-Jeon (The Clash of Power)” at the Performing Arts Theatre.

A Convocation Lecture will be delivered by Nigerian US-based Professor of History, Tayo Falola, on “Modernity, Modernisation and Values.” Graduations for final-year students of four-year and five-year academic programs will also take place.
Convocation Day II will be held on Saturday, conferring degrees and honors upon all final-year students of four-year and five-year academic programs in the 2021/2022 academic session.
The “grand finale” on October 23 will see the graduation of six-year programs and postgraduate students for the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic sessions.
The University of Ilorin assures that every effort will be made to ensure the smooth running of the events.
