Osimhen and Iheanacho to sit out super eagles’ friendly against Mozambique

Nigerian football forwards, Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho, will be absent from the Super Eagles’ upcoming international friendly match against Mozambique.

The Super Eagles’ official Twitter account announced this on Sunday. Osimhen, who plays for Napoli, will sit out the game due to precautionary measures recommended by the team’s medical staff.

Meanwhile, Iheanacho, who represents England’s Leicester City, is unavailable due to pressing personal matters.

Both players had participated in Nigeria’s recent 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia, with the team scoring two goals, including an own goal by Saudi defender Amir and a late strike by substitute Iheanacho.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Mozambique on Monday, October 16, at the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira in Portugal.
