Representatives from the London Academy Business School and the University of Sunderland have initiated discussions with the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Nigeria regarding the establishment of degree programs in the country.
A delegation from the University of Sunderland, led by Dr. Derek Watson, met with the acting Executive Secretary of the NUC, Chris Maiyaki, in Abuja to discuss this endeavor.
Dr. Watson emphasized the importance of compliance procedures and the recruitment of qualified academics to ensure that students in Nigeria receive an educational experience equivalent to that of their counterparts studying in England.

Dr. Larry Jones-Esan, President/Director of Studies at the London Academy Business School, explained that their visit to the NUC aimed to secure recognition for their programs in Nigeria.
He highlighted the significance of NUC recognition, stating that without it, degrees would be considered useless, and graduates would not be eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The partnership between the two institutions seeks to address the significant gap between the number of university applicants and available positions in Nigeria, offering a potential solution to the challenge.
