LP urges Atiku: Don’t drag Obi into your Tinubu fight

The leadership of the Labour Party has requested that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, exclude their candidate, Peter Obi, from his ongoing feud with President Bola Tinubu.

The Labour Party emphasized that Peter Obi is solely focused on reclaiming what they describe as his ‘stolen mandate’ at the Supreme Court.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, expressed the party’s desire for Peter Obi to concentrate on his legal case while leaving the political squabbles to others.

The statement read, “The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is presently in the Supreme Court seeking to reclaim his stolen mandate, and he is focused on that.”

Furthermore, the statement highlighted Peter Obi’s commitment to justice and his vision for a Nigeria where true justice prevails.

It quoted the Labour Party’s candidate as having championed the cause of ethical leadership and transparency in governance.

The statement continued, “He has been in the vanguard of ensuring a just nation where justice must be the watchword, and he will not stop until Nigeria achieves the leadership it truly deserves.

Obi has pontificated on the need for leaders to be good role models and live a life worthy of emulation.”

Additionally, the Labour Party expressed its willingness to embrace any initiative that aligns with their goal of a just and equitable nation.

However, they stressed the importance of allowing Peter Obi to focus on his legal pursuit at the Supreme Court.

This response from the Labour Party comes following a call by the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for Peter Obi and the New Nigeria People’s Party’s presidential flag bearer, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to join him in exposing alleged secrets about President Bola Tinubu.

The Labour Party’s statement reaffirms Peter Obi’s dedication to upholding the principles of integrity and honor in leadership, and it underscores his unwavering commitment to his legal case aimed at reclaiming his perceived ‘stolen mandate.’
