Man Utd faces early Champions League exit after Galatasaray defeat

Manchester United’s hopes of advancing in the Champions League are in jeopardy following a 3-2 home loss to Galatasaray on Tuesday.

This defeat marks the first time Manchester United has lost their first two games in a Champions League group.

New goalkeeper Andre Onana experienced another challenging night in European competition.

Rasmus Hojlund gave United the lead on two occasions, but Galatasaray made a comeback to secure their first away victory in the Champions League in a decade, thanks to goals from Wilfried Zaha, Kerem Akturkoglu, and Mauro Icardi.

Onana took responsibility for his previous error, which allowed Bayern Munich to score first in United’s 4-3 loss in Germany at the start of Group A.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper was again at fault for the play that led to Casemiro’s red card for conceding a penalty in the 77th minute.

Although Icardi missed the penalty, he quickly made amends by scoring the winning goal against the 10-man United.

Manchester United’s 1-0 loss at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday marked their worst start to a Premier League season, with four defeats in seven games.

Advancing to the Champions League Round of 16 now appears to be a challenging task.

Bayern defeated FC Copenhagen 2-1 away, accumulating six points, while Galatasaray is four points ahead of United with four games remaining.
