Adamu Garba has expressed concerns that the demands presented by labor unions to the Federal Government could potentially result in private sector companies having to lay off employees.
Garba emphasized that the extensive demands made by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are not sustainable.
As a former presidential aspirant, Garba highlighted the significant disparity in the number of federal, state, and local government workers compared to those in the private sector.

He voiced his worries about how private employers of labor would manage to meet these demands, emphasizing that imposing a substantial increase in the minimum wage could lead to workforce reductions in numerous private companies.
Garba urged the labor unions to approach negotiations with caution, pointing out that dedicating a large portion of the budget to civil servants’ salaries, while simultaneously removing subsidies and raising the minimum wage, could create a financial cycle that ultimately hampers development.
