U.S. President Joe Biden has selected two Nigerian-Americans, Osagie Imasogie and Chiney Ogwumike, to serve as advisors on the President’s Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement in the United States.
The White House announced this appointment, which includes 12 members in total, on its official website.
Chiney Ogwumike, a two-time WNBA All-Star for the Los Angeles Sparks, will join the council.
She is not only an accomplished athlete but also a full-time, multi-platform ESPN commentator and NBA analyst.
Ogwumike was named the WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2014 and holds an International Relations degree from Stanford University.

Osagie Imasogie, the Chairman of the Investment Bank and SEC/FINRA registered Broker-Dealer, Quoin Capital and Quoin Advisors, is the other appointee.
He co-founded PIPV Capital, a private equity firm focused on the life sciences sector, with investments exceeding $1 billion.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), commended these appointments, describing them as motivating for other Nigerians.
