NDE empowers 60 youths in Ogun through training program

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has initiated a three-month training program for 60 unemployed youths in Ogun State under the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS) as part of the Special Public Works department’s efforts to empower individuals with professional skills in environmental beautification, sanitation, and protection.

During the launch of the EBTS 2023 training in Abeokuta, Ogun State’s capital, the Director-General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, emphasized the scheme’s goal to reduce unemployment rates and promote self-reliance among participants.

The training covers various aspects of environmental beautification, including Hard Landscaping, Soft Landscaping, Horticulture, Tiling, and Plaster of Paris (POP).

Each skill area will be overseen by experienced resource persons to ensure participants’ proficiency upon completion of the training.

Congratulating the selected participants, the Director-General highlighted the program’s significance in equipping individuals with knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the country.

He encouraged them to embrace the training with enthusiasm and dedication, emphasizing the importance of self-dependence and responsibility.

The Director of the SPW Department, Mrs. Olaomi Roseline, urged the beneficiaries to seize this opportunity to gain valuable skills rather than waiting for white-collar jobs.

He emphasized the importance of paying attention to their trainers during the training exercise.
