Armani, born weighing a remarkable 12 pounds, which is three times more than the average-sized baby at her gestational age, surprised many.
Her condition led people to believe her mother, Chelsey, was expecting triplets, as she herself weighed over 200 pounds during pregnancy.
The diagnosis of lymphangioma came after an ultrasound at 17 weeks, when doctors became concerned about potential fluid buildup around Armani’s heart.
Chelsey, Armani’s mother, expressed her initial shock and heartbreak upon learning about her baby’s condition.

She had never encountered this diagnosis before and was distressed by the images she found during her research.
Despite the bleak prognosis initially given by doctors, Chelsey remained hopeful. Armani’s condition is considered treatable through surgery.
After her birth, Armani and her family relocated over 100 miles away to a specialized hospital in Cincinnati, where she began her remarkable journey to recovery.
Currently, Armani is undergoing continuous treatment to address excess fluid in her body. Later this year, she is scheduled for surgery aimed at removing extra lymphatic vessels, which will help her reach a more typical size.
Over the coming years, Armani will undergo additional surgeries to remove excess skin associated with her condition.
