This decision comes in response to a significant increase in school enrollments following the government’s commitment to providing free basic education, uniforms, and educational materials.
While the Federal Government currently pays NYSC members a monthly allowance of N33,000 in accordance with the national minimum wage, discussions about a potential minimum wage increase are underway in Nigeria due to the removal of fuel subsidies, raising expectations among workers.
