4 British women to sue Andrew Tate for alleged choking and rape

Four British women are preparing to file lawsuits against social media influencer Andrew Tate, accusing him of choking them to the point of bursting blood vessels in their eyes.

Tate is currently awaiting trial in Romania on charges of human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to exploit women, charges he denies.

The women, who plan to bring claims of rape, coercive control, and choking to the High Court in London, allege that they were victims of sexual violence by Tate between 2013 and 2016, before he gained fame as an influencer. Tate, who denies all allegations, has reportedly threatened to sue them for defamation.

One of the alleged victims described the attacks, including choking, beating with a belt, and multiple rapes, as well as coercive control.

She claimed that Tate had texted her, saying, “I love raping you.” While three women reported the alleged crimes to the police at the time, the Crown Prosecution Service did not bring charges after a four-year investigation.

The alleged victims believe that pursuing a civil case is their only option and intend to sue Tate for personal injury and physical harm. Tate has since gained millions of followers, and his videos have become widespread on the internet.

The solicitor representing the British women, Matthew Jury, is confident that they can sue Tate personally, even though he resides in Romania.

He emphasized that Tate is a wealthy individual and stated that UK judgments can be enforced abroad.

A spokesperson for Tate noted that the allegations originated from a letter suggesting mediation through financial compensation and stated that the letter did not constitute a formal legal case.

Tate denied the allegations and expressed his intention to resist any attempts to claim anonymity for the complainants. He also mentioned contemplating defamation proceedings against the complainants.

In April, three British webcam models who had worked for Tate alleged rape and abuse by the influencer. They reported their allegations to the UK police eight years ago but claimed that detectives failed to investigate properly before dropping the case.

Earlier this year, Tate and his brother Tristan were released from a Romanian prison after three months of detention in connection with human trafficking and rape allegations.
