Nicki Minaj’s husband placed on house arrest for threats against Offset

Kenneth Petty, the spouse of famous rapper Nicki Minaj, has been sentenced to 120 days of house arrest for violating the terms of his probation.

The violation occurred when Petty posted videos on social media that were interpreted as threats towards Offset, the husband of fellow rapper Cardi B.

In a court order issued on September 20 in the Central District of California, Petty was directed to undergo home monitoring due to his involvement in making threatening remarks in a recorded video.

The court order specifically mentioned that Petty was recorded making threats while in the presence of an individual with a criminal record.

The video clips in question, which led to this legal action, were related to messages Petty directed at rapper Offset and were posted on social media on September 16.

In these viral videos, Petty and his associates were seen outside a New York City hotel where Offset was reportedly staying.

Among the various threatening statements in the video, Petty can be heard saying, “Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral, [expletive]!”

Offset responded to these threats on his own social media, seemingly dismissing them. He commented, “I’m getting off a jet, he’s funny,” and suggested that Petty was financially unstable.

It’s important to note that Kenneth Petty had previously been sentenced to three years of probation in July 2022 for failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020.

His prior criminal record includes a 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, for which he served a four-year prison sentence in New York.
