The Jigawa State Police Command has made significant arrests in connection with various criminal activities in the state.
The suspects include armed robbers, vandals, and thieves, and they were apprehended in different locations within the state.
As a result of these operations, law enforcement officers were able to seize a locally made pistol, stolen properties, and cable wires.
According to DSP Lawam Shiisu Adam, the spokesperson for the command, the arrests and recoveries were made on specific dates.
On September 14, a group of hunters from Dingaya village in Gwaram LGA arrested a man named Sani Garba, along with an accomplice named Isyaku (who is currently at large).
They were apprehended with a stolen sheep, and a subsequent search of Garba’s residence led to the discovery of a locally made pistol.
During questioning, Garba confessed to buying the pistol for N30,000 from an individual named Usman in Nasarawa Egon LGA, Nasarawa state.
He further revealed that he and Usman were part of a criminal syndicate involved in armed robbery, motorcycle theft, and other unlawful activities in Nasarawa state.

In another incident, on September 18, Abubakar Ibrahim, a 35-year-old resident of Danmasara village in Dutse LGA, was caught vandalizing armored cable wires used for street lighting in the High Brough area of Dutse.
He was arrested by the police after a reliable source provided information about the incident. During questioning, Ibrahim admitted to being a habitual criminal and confessed to the vandalism.
On September 18, Usman Kazaure Abdullahi reported to Kazaure Police Station that his house had been burglarized the previous day.
Thieves had stolen a substantial amount of valuable items, including televisions, rug carpets, bags of rice, clothing, and electronic devices, with a total value of N3,500,000.
A police team visited the scene and recovered some of the stolen items from an uncompleted building near the complainant’s house.
Umar Musa and Abdulmajid Nura, both residents of Katoge quarters in Kazaure LGA, were subsequently arrested in connection with the burglary.
They confessed to the crime, and further investigation led to the recovery of additional stolen items from their houses.
All the suspects arrested in these cases will face legal proceedings and be brought before the court to answer for their alleged crimes following a thorough investigation conducted by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Dutse.
