Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to participate in the investigation of the untimely demise of renowned singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
This announcement came through a statement from the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Mohbad, who was previously associated with Marlian Records under Naira Marley’s mentorship, passed away at the age of 27 last Tuesday, leaving behind grieving family members and devoted fans.
The Lagos state government expressed its condolences to the late artist’s family and supporters, acknowledging the loss of a promising and accomplished young talent in a fiercely competitive industry.
In response to the tragic incident, Governor Sanwo-Olu has taken steps to ensure a thorough investigation. Alongside the existing police special investigative team in Lagos assigned to the case, the governor has invited the DSS to collaborate on the inquiry.

The aim is to utilize inter-agency cooperation and cutting-edge technology to uncover the truth surrounding Mohbad’s demise.
Governor Sanwo-Olu has also directed that anyone found to have played a role in the events leading to Mohbad’s death should face legal consequences following a comprehensive investigation.
The Lagos state government appeals to individuals who possess essential information that could aid the investigative process to come forward and share it with the investigative team.
They have requested that the investigating team protect the confidentiality and safety of witnesses who provide significant information or evidence relevant to the investigation.
Meanwhile, Mohbad’s management announced plans for a candlelight procession and tribute night to honor the late artist.
In the wake of his passing, numerous fans and sympathizers have called for a thorough investigation to ascertain the cause of his death.
