Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has taken to social media to announce her plans for a peaceful protest in Lagos State to demand justice for the late singer Mohbad, who died last week under controversial circumstances.
During an Instagram live session on Monday, Iyabo Ojo disclosed that her NGO, Pinkies Foundation, will submit a letter to the Lagos State government ahead of the planned rally, which is scheduled for either Tuesday or Wednesday.
She urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to use his influence to ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability. She stressed, “We don’t want an audio investigation.”
Iyabo Ojo, speaking on behalf of concerned parents, expressed their determination to seek justice for the late singer.

She mentioned that her lawyer would write to the governor’s office, and her foundation would also send letters to various authorities, including international organizations.
Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Music Records, passed away at the age of 27 last Tuesday and was buried the following day.
His death has raised significant controversy, with allegations of threats to his life by the record label, owned by Naira Marley, surfacing online.
In response to public concerns and preliminary reviews of Mohbad’s death, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, ordered a full-scale criminal investigation into the case.
A petition to ban Marlian Music Records, the late singer’s former label, was launched on change.org and has garnered over 250,000 signatures as of the time of this report
