Fresh FM bans all marlian songs amid Mohbad’s mysterious death

Fresh FM 106.9 FM, a privately owned radio broadcast station in Ekiti State, has announced a temporary ban on the airing of songs and content associated with Naira Marley’s Marlian Records.

This decision follows the recent and mysterious death of Mohbad, a former signee of Marlian Records.

The statement, signed by the station’s Head of Production and Music Content, Oluwaseunfunmi Williams, cited public concerns, viral videos, and alleged victimization surrounding the incident as reasons for the suspension.

This move mirrors a similar action taken by Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan, Oyo State, which banned Naira Marley’s songs due to the ongoing investigation into Mohbad’s untimely demise.

Mohbad, aged 27, passed away last Tuesday under circumstances yet to be fully clarified.

To shed light on the situation, the Nigerian police force has established a special investigative team with plans to submit an interim report within two weeks.
