Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, has clinched the prestigious Bundesliga Player of The Month Award for the month of August, surpassing renowned Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane to secure the honor.

This accolade, initiated by the DFL Deutsche Fuball Liga in collaboration with the Bundesliga’s official licensing partner, EA Sports in 2018/19, employs a two-phase selection process that assesses both individual player performance data and a collective vote by fans and experts, based on performances from Matchdays 1 and 2 of the Bundesliga season.

Victor Boniface’s stellar performances have also earned him the Rookie of The Month award, a distinction he shares with Erling Haaland, who achieved this dual honor in 2020.

The 22-year-old Nigerian has initiated his Bundesliga career in spectacular fashion, playing a pivotal role in Jeremie Frimpong’s opening goal against Leipzig, leading Die Werkself to an impressive 3-2 victory.

He also secured two goals in Leverkusen’s commanding 3-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
