In an unfortunate incident along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, two individuals lost their lives, while one person sustained injuries as a result of a collision involving a Mazda bus and an unregistered Mazda car at Ayedere village in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State. The accident transpired at approximately 7:10 am.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed these distressing events to the media in Abeokuta.
According to Akinbiyi, the root cause of the accident was the reckless behavior of the driver of the unregistered Mazda car, who blatantly disregarded traffic regulations by driving against the flow of traffic.
This disregard for traffic rules led to a head-on collision with the Mazda bus bearing the registration SEY 311 ZY.

Regrettably, both drivers of the involved vehicles lost their lives instantaneously due to the severe impact of the collision.
On a slightly positive note, the motor boy accompanying the Mazda bus survived the crash but sustained injuries.
Promptly after the accident, the injured motor boy received immediate assistance and was transported to a nearby medical facility for necessary medical attention.
Akinbiyi further mentioned that the family of the car driver had taken his body for burial, while the driver of the bus had been placed in the morgue at Ifo General Hospital.
