Don Jazzy celebrates as Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ surpasses one billion spotify streams

Nigerian producer and music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, known as Don Jazzy, has extended his congratulations to his protege, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema.

This comes after the remix of Rema’s hit track, ‘Calm Down,’ featuring Selena Gomez, achieved the remarkable milestone of becoming the first African song to reach one billion streams on Spotify.

Don Jazzy, the head of Mavin Records, expressed his admiration for Rema’s achievement, emphasizing that it was a significant milestone.

On his social media page, Don Jazzy shared his thoughts, stating, “Massive congratulations to @heisrema as Calmdown ft @selenagomez just crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify.

It’s worth noting that the original version of ‘Calm Down’ gained recognition from the Guinness World Records as the first number one song on the world’s inaugural regional streaming chart, MENA.
