The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, located in Abuja, has dismissed the entire petition brought forward by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, against President Bola Tinubu.
The tribunal found that the petition was primarily composed of rhetorical arguments lacking substantive evidence.
Among the allegations presented by the petitioners were the demand for the annulment of President Tinubu’s victory due to his failure to achieve 25% of the votes in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), assertions of Tinubu’s disqualification from running due to a U.S. forfeiture case, and claims of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failing to transmit results to Irev, among others.

Justice Haruna Tsammani, the head of the five-man panel presiding over the case, while delivering the tribunal’s verdict, dismissed these issues raised in the petitions.
Justice Tsammani specifically characterized the argument about the 25% requirement in the FCT as not only fallacious but also incredibly ridiculous.
