Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has expressed his appreciation to the Department of State Services (DSS) for promptly apprehending individuals associated with the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA) who were engaged in the misappropriation of palliative supplies.
He regarded the DSS’s action against NASEMA officials and their associates as a positive development.
Earlier reports had revealed that DSS operatives had taken into custody NASEMA officials who had diverted palliative resources intended for vulnerable individuals in Nasarawa State, which subsequently appeared in the Lafia market for sale.

In a statement released in Lafia and conveyed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, Governor Sule remarked, “It is disheartening that, despite the relentless efforts of federal and state governments to alleviate the suffering of victims, certain government personnel would shamelessly collude with criminal elements to engage in the diversion and trade of these materials.”
He highlighted how some agency employees were allegedly connected to a nationwide network dedicated to rerouting relief materials provided by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for distribution among Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and flood victims in the state.
