A drug dealer found himself in an ironic predicament when he decided to report a theft of his narcotics to the police, only to be arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply.
The unusual turn of events occurred when James Beaumont, 38, called the Thames Valley Police to report that his drugs had been stolen during a break-in at his residence.
When officers arrived at Beaumont’s home, he willingly provided them with a list of the stolen drugs, which included cocaine, MDMA, ketamine, and 87 grams of crystal meth.
Subsequently, he was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply.
During his court appearance at Oxford Crown Court, Beaumont pleaded guilty to the charge.
Police not only found class A drugs like cocaine, MDMA, methylamphetamine, and LSD at his residence but also discovered class B drugs such as cannabis and ketamine, as well as the class C drug Etizolam.

The prosecution alleged that Beaumont had assistance from others in distributing various drugs, including ecstasy, ketamine, and crystal meth.
However, Beaumont’s defense attorney, James Reilly, argued that his client did not accept that he had involved others in selling his drugs.
Beaumont had been suffering from poor mental health at the time and had expressed concerns about individuals “hiding in the bushes.”
The judge adjourned the sentencing, pending further evidence from a download of Beaumont’s phone to determine whether he was indeed involving others in drug supply.
The case will proceed to the St. Aldates Crown Court on September 22, when a judge will make arrangements for a hearing or set a date for Beaumont’s sentencing. In the meantime, he was granted bail under certain conditions.
