First lady Jill Biden tests positive to COVID, Biden tests negative – White House

Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, has been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to the White House.

This comes just before President Joe Biden is set to travel to the Group of 20 summit in India. Despite this, the President has tested negative for the virus.

Jill Biden, aged 72, experienced mild symptoms and had previously contracted COVID-19 in August 2022. President Biden, aged 80, also tested positive for the virus in July 2022.

Elizabeth Alexander, Jill Biden’s communications director, confirmed her positive test and stated that the First Lady would continue to stay at their home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

After her positive test, President Biden was promptly tested for COVID-19, and his results came back negative.

The White House indicated that he will undergo regular testing throughout the week and monitor for any symptoms.

Despite these developments, President Biden’s official schedule includes plans to travel to New Delhi for the G20 summit on Thursday, with a subsequent trip to Hanoi on Sunday.
