The Presidential Elections Petitions Tribunal (PEPT) has scheduled September 6 as the date for delivering the judgment on the petitions challenging President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential elections held on February 25.
Umar Bangari, the registrar of the Court of Appeal, confirmed this announcement on Monday and also mentioned that the judgment will be broadcast live.
President Tinubu’s election victory has been disputed by his opponents, including Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 6.9 million votes, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, with 6.1 million votes.
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) filed a petition with the court, alleging that Mr. Tinubu’s victory was a result of election rigging.
