The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development, Martins Esin, has called on the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Agency For Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Alhaji Khalil Suleiman Halilu, to demonstrate his capabilities and prove his worth to the President Bola Tinubu administration.
Esin emphasized that Halilu’s appointment serves as a critical test for Nigerian youth.
Esin also commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts in appointing more young individuals to significant positions within the administration.
He viewed this as a strategic move toward youth inclusion in government, which he described as a “conscious national succession plan” aimed at preparing the next generation to assume leadership roles in the country.
President Bola Tinubu recently announced the appointment of Alhaji Khalil Suleiman Halilu as the new CEO of NASENI, replacing the former vice-chairman and CEO, Dr. Bashir Gwandu, who had been appointed during the previous administration.

Esin, who represents Oron/Mbo/Okobo/Udung Uko/Urueoffong Oruko Federal Constituency, conveyed his thoughts in a statement issued in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
He praised the quality of young leaders being brought into government, highlighting their qualifications, character, and achievements as promising signs of a bright future for Nigerian leadership.
He emphasized that these appointments were not mere acts of political patronage but were based on merit.
Esin expressed his confidence in Halilu, a young innovator and tech expert, and encouraged him to excel in his new role.
He encouraged Nigerian youth to follow the examples of their peers who have received national appointments, emphasizing the abundance of opportunities for youth leadership and service delivery across the country.
