Fourth mainland bridge to cut Lagos-Abuja travel to 4 hours – Dave Umahi

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced during his highway inspection tour in Ogun and Oyo states that the proposed Lagos 4th Mainland Bridge Supersonic Highway would reduce travel time from Lagos to Abuja to just four hours.

He made this statement during a meeting with Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun in Abeokuta.

Umahi explained that the Lagos 4th Mainland Bridge Supersonic Highway project, which is set to be developed through a Public Private Partnership (PPP), is expected to significantly enhance transportation efficiency.

The initiative, known as the Highway Development Management Initiative (HDMI), aims to engage state governments and private investors in partnerships with the Federal Government.

Under this initiative, private investors can take over the maintenance and tolling of fully constructed roads in collaboration with the federal government or participate in the construction and tolling of new roads according to established agreements.

The minister also discussed incorporating innovative features like solar lights, CCTV surveillance, service stations, and mini clinics to enhance security and road services.
