Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed his lack of surprise regarding the recent military coup in Gabon.
This statement from Fani-Kayode comes in response to the overthrow of power in the Central African nation.
Army officers in Gabon proclaimed their takeover after President Ali Bongo’s contested third term re-election on Saturday.

These top military officials announced their actions on Tuesday, declaring the nullification of the election results, which had been denounced by the opposition as “fraudulent.”
Fani-Kayode took to his social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to convey his thoughts.
He stated that more coups should be expected in the Francophone countries of West and Central Africa.
He further reflected on his previous essay, “Does Killing Nigerien Babies Bring Glory To Our Name?” and highlighted its prophetic undertones.
