Government cannot provide food to every resident – Gov. Zulum

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, emphasized that no government can feasibly provide food to all its communities.

He made this statement during the distribution of food items to 18,000 households in Damboa Local Government Area.

Zulum highlighted that his administration has strategically identified the most vulnerable citizens to receive subsidy removal palliatives, aiming to alleviate the impact of hardships in the state.

He underlined that the task of supplying food items to entire communities is not practical for any level of government, whether federal, state, or local.

Instead, his government has focused on assisting the most disadvantaged individuals across various local governments.

Zulum acknowledged that regions like Gwoza and Damboa in southern Borno, as well as the northern part, are severely affected by food shortages, with exceptions like Kaga, Magumeri, Gubio, MMC, and Jere that have faced comparatively less impact.
