Inspector Charity Oyor, a police officer stationed in Onitsha, has received recognition and reward for her integrity and dedication to duty.
While on duty, Inspector Oyor became suspicious of a vehicle laden with cables and decided to stop it for inspection.
When she was offered a bribe by the driver to look the other way, she rejected it and instead called for backup.
Subsequent investigation by the backup team revealed that the cables were indeed stolen goods.

The Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, announced that Inspector Charity Oyor received a cash reward of N250,000 from the Police Commissioner, CP Aderemi Adeoye, for her outstanding work.
The Commissioner praised Inspector Oyor for her honesty and emphasized the importance of upholding the ethical standards of the police profession.
He also commended the leadership of Superintendent Joy Chidinma Ikpeama for providing guidance to the officers under her command.
Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police has directed the State CID Awka to take over the case for further investigation to determine the source of the stolen cables.
