Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, has expressed his eagerness to contribute to the team’s coaching setup. Renowned as one of Nigeria’s top goalkeepers, the 59-year-old Rufai has a remarkable record of 65 appearances for the three-time African champions.
Despite his impressive career, Rufai hasn’t been involved with the national team since retiring from active football.
However, he has now shown interest in becoming a part of the coaching staff, specifically focusing on goalkeeping training.

Speaking on Sports Salsa (Kennis 104.1FM), Rufai said, “I’m ready for them. To show them techniques of goalkeeping. I’m waiting to be one of the Super Eagles coaches sometime, someday.”
He emphasized the importance of improving goalkeeping techniques, mentioning that Nigeria has talented goalkeepers, but something is lacking in their training.
